The MUNers Review, powered by MUNers Across Borders, is our digital academic journal dedicated to empowering high school and university students around the world. The MUNers Review provides a platform to showcase research and reflections on global issues. We believe in promoting a broader understanding of international relations, multilateral institutions, public policy analysis, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), global governance, and international law. Our journal aims to be a resource for high school authors preparing for future academic and professional pursuits in these fields.
Your contributions are welcome and essential; we want to place young voices at the center of these conversations.

Whether you’re preparing for an upcoming conference, pursuing a degree in international law or public policy-adjacent fields, seeking to understand complex global issues, or looking to refine your writing skills, our publication is designed to inform and inspire the young diplomat.

Editorial Process

Submissions are approved and anonymized by our Co-Editors-in-Chief before being presented to our expert team of reviewers. We review submissions from students from all countries, written in English. Editorial Process

Submissions are approved and anonymized by our Co-Editors-in-Chief before being presented to our expert team of reviewers. We review submissions from students from all countries, written in English. To be considered for publication in the Fall 2026 issue, please upload your submission by June 19th. Priority consideration will be given to those who upload their submission by May 4th. Any submissions we receive after June 19th may be included in the review cycle of future issues.

Submission Types

Research Article
An original and new contribution to existing literature on a specific topic within the disciplines our journal tackles. Abstract: 250 words maximum (excluded from word range).
Case Study
A creative and critical discussion/commentary on a case and its impact in a chosen field/discipline our journal tackles.
Book Review
A formal evaluation of a book related to a field(s) our journal tackles.

Note: (All submission types must be limited to a 1,500 to 3,500 word range)

Evaluation Criteria for Publication

The thesis statement or main idea of your submission is clear and original.
The subject matter is related to any of the fields mentioned above in the “About The MUNers Review” section.
Your submission provides significant added value to the existing literature in that field.
Your submission considers and analyzes opposing viewpoints.
The argument of the submission is developed using your distinct and unique voice.
The submission gives room for continued discussion, debate, and further research on the topic.
The supporting citations are accurate and relatively current.
For Research Articles: your analysis and data should be informative, credible, and persuasive.
For Case Studies: your examination of the case should be detailed and grounded in context.
For Book Reviews: your review should not only summarize the material but also provide synthesis of analytical components and assessments of the material.
Please use the "McGill Guide" (Canadian Guide to Uniform Legal Citation) for formatting and citation guidelines.

Journal Policy

To be reviewed, your submission must adhere to these policies:

The author is a high-school student.

Your submission is original and property of you as the author. We will check for plagiarism.

No version of your submission has been previously published, been accepted for publication, or currently under review by another journal.

If you’ve used any generative artificial intelligence tools (i.e. ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to produce any part of your submission, you must complete and attach a copy of our AI Declaration Form with your application as we will be checking for use of generative AI. Please find this form here.

Each applicant is currently limited to providing 1 submission only to ensure a swift review process.

Note: If the applicant is found to have violated any of the above policies, they will be rejected and documented.

There is a $75 submission fee for high school submissions.
There is a $150 submission fee for university submissions.
In the Google Form application, you will be asked to provide proof of payment. Please upload a screenshot of your payment with your submission.

Note: Fee does not guarantee being selected for publication and is nonrefundable. However, regardless of publication decision, communication from us will be accompanied by comments and suggestions on your work from our expert reviewer team. If you wish to resubmit your work for another chance at publication consideration, we will provide a discounted submission fee rate for 50% off.
